Getting crafty

So I was given some clothes and not all of it fit or worked for me so I decided to re-purpose it. In the bag was a yellow stripped halter top, I decided this would make an adorable Easter dress. Miss M. as usual wanted a hair accessory to match so we got creative. The top part of the dress is a T-shirt that has a stain on it right below where the yellow ribbon is- but when made into a dress you can't see it. It won't fit for too long as she is constantly growing but for now I think it is awfully cute! Have you re-purposed anything lately? let me know, I love new ideas.

My Hero

Mr. Ry, posing to his fans. So I found a tutorial on one of the many blogs I follow to make a hero cape out of my husbands old T-shirts. It was so easy and only required sewing to add the lightning bolt and the "R"on the back. It was so fun to see my little mans excitment over his new cape. He has requested that I make him 5 more.

For about 20 min. he chased his sister around the kitchen, both laughing the whole time. I loved how if flapped behind him when he ran fast.

The lightning bolt and "R" for super Ry.

This is his super hero pose, he does it quite often. At gymnastic when it his turn to run and jump into the foam pit, he backs up strikes this pose and then run as fast as he can into the foam blocks! He cracks me up to say the least.

Miss M also requested that I make her one with a flower on the back and an "M" for supper "M"- They are characters but most of all my hero's.

The cape is simply the back of the shirt cut to the shape you want and cut around the neck hole and either tie it like I did or add Velcro to attach the cape- Give it a try!

Our chef!

Miss M. really loves to bake lately- she received an apron from a friend for her birthday and now acts as if she was knighted into a position to head baker. Any time I start cooking out comes the apron and a confident voice "I can do it!"

So I decided to let her do all the work and we decided to make pretzels. I was shocked that she did not spill anything! I always use to help her or shield the table from a spill- when I realized spills can be cleaned up. She was so full of Joy that I would let her do it herself.

Slow and steady with the water-it was really heavy.

She loves to sprinkle the sugar!!!

Measuring salt in her hand!

Our finished product- some with salt, other with cinnamon and sugar!

Yummmmmm!!!!!

My Princess is 4 years old!

So Little Miss M is not so "Little" anymore. I can't believe she is now 4 years old. At her request we planned a Princess and Knight party. There were 10 children- which included my three. After realizing Big Daddyo would be at work I was grateful for a good friend Kate who came over to assist me with all the guests.

So the night before her big day I searched high and low for my birthday supplies, streamer, balloons, banner and more-still can't find whatever organized place I put it so at around 9pm I started frantically making this banner for her.It turned out pretty nice.

To help add to the princess theme I drew a castle to decorate the basement, Miss M loved it and many of her friends were eager to stand in front of the door as if they were going to really enter this fantasy!

The Table!!!

Good morning Princess, she kept asking if it was her "real" birthday. She had celebrated with Big Daddyo's family the week before and was thrilled to know that it was finally "the real" day.

We got Miss M a real doll for her birthday, not a baby. She named her Madison and we did Miss M. hair the same as her doll and she had it with her everywhere till her party started. Too cute.

We played Princess, Princess Dragon...

A few of our distinguished guests.

Hot potato, but with a poisonous apple. The kids really loved this one. One of the girls was dressed as snow white and felt she should hold onto the apple and not pass it because she was suppose to eat the apple- she made me smile.

The cake!!!

Make a wish.

What is a princess party without a Ball- they were all dancing around, and twirling. Prince Hayden was taking his turn dancing with each princess that wanted a turn.

These are the capes I made as party favors and the boys (knights) received a foam sword.
